Shiwan is a small town in the Guandong province of southern China, with a history of pottery dating back to Neolithic times. The clay found nearby is very plastic and rich in iron oxides, and the area is known for producing fine figurines. This is a homage to one of China’s greatest poets, who lived during the Tang Dynasty.
